The 13 week fetal assessment test is to check if the baby is at risk of Down's Syndrom via the amount of fluid that's accumulated at the back of the neck. This test is normally done between 11 and 14 weeks and is optional.
Gives us a good chance to see our little one for a good 15 to 20 minutes! It took about that long before Patch decided to move away from the edge of the waterbag for a proper measurement. Heh.
Our 4th meeting. Patch is now 12 weeks and 5 days old.
He was happily floating upside down earlier and I had to walk about for 20 minutes (which ended up being 40 minutes) so that he could (hopefully) move back into a lying down position so the sonographer could measure him properly.
Fortunately he did if not I don't know how long we will have to stay there!
Patch was measuring 73mm that day, which correlates to a gestational age of 13w2d. His thigh was about 1mm long and heart beat was 159bpm. It was our first time hearing the heartbeat!
