Cupcake Experiment

Baking cupcakes for the ROM. But first...

A Ripley's... One egg, 3 yolks! Believe it.

And now, back to our programme.
Experiment #1:
Yellow cake with ready-made vanilla frosting

Cupcakes before frosting. Looking good!

Frosting's a pretty pink, so sweeeeet (literally and figuratively).
But the frosting's too liquid-y. No shape.

Don't the mini hearts look so pretty on the pink frosting? :D

Experiment #2 Lemon Cake with Lemon Icing

Fresh out of the oven! Lovely lemony smells...

With icing. Despite adding too much water, it still held its shape very well! Used butter-flavoured shortnening so the icing turned orange when I added red food colouring. Still looks pretty good. I think it looks better in reality heh.

Another shot

Verdict: Lemony cakes with Lemony Icing wins!

Wonder if I should try for a brandy-flavoured icing heh.
